Description
15” x 20" From the same body of work exploring my experience of gender, womanhood, and sexuality, this piece encapsulates my identity as a woman being separate from the sum of my parts and my ability to give birth. Much of the cultural expecations around womanhood center motherhood, and even esoteric practices focus on this idea of womb-centric magic and power. As an asexual woman with a history of reproductive health issues, I have always found this to be a disheartening way of defining womanhood and the power therein.
