27.5" x 17.5" I was born and raised in New Mexico and have been designing and creating art for most of my life. This piece is unique as I drew it digitally and then generated it on wood. It is hand stained, using a layering of dyes to create depth to the shapes, and finished with bee’s wax for a soft touch. While most regard the machinery I use to produce my pieces as masculine, I like to experiment with unique ways to utilize the laser etching and raw materials. In doing so, I am able convey a feminine perspective that expresses my love for the beauty of the southwest in a way that shifts our perception of the underlying materials into a modern focus.
