GABRIELA HENNER

I grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, influenced from a young age by the Southwest’s unique culture and landscape. I learned the beauty of different painting mediums from my artist grandmother, and a year abroad in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain further inspired me to become more vibrant and detailed in my art.

The world of monsters coexists with our universe, yet we often overlook their innumerable contributions to our society. Their emotions and relationships are as profound as our own, although they are notably more private creatures than we are. Throughout history, their technological advances have furthered our civilizations. However, as centuries passed and humans became more dependent on material goods, they began to forget their monster companions. It is my hope that with the more exposure these creatures are given, the more we can reconnect with their wisdom and love.
