Women’s Work 2022: ALL SUBMISSIONS

One of the things that is most fun and at the same time the most trying about jurying the Women’s show is the sheer quantity and diversity of entries we receive. I always want to take more pieces than we can, and I know that each artist puts her heart and soul into her work. Further, as an artist myself, I know what a drag it is to get rejection letters. Therefore, I always try and emphasize the dynamic nature of jurying, that each show takes on a life of its own, and that if rejected, it may be less about the quality of the work, and more about the fact that for whatever reason, I just couldn’t make it work in THIS show.

The call for the 2022 show was no different. We received over 200 images of artwork, and there was simply no way that we were going to be able to show every wonderful piece! Thinking on it, what I decided to do this year, was show you them all. I wanted to do so in a way that would give you the full experience of a juror, so this online gallery is presented with images in no particular order, representing what I had to grapple with when curating. It includes works from both the artists that got into the show, and those from those that did not. There are plenty of things I loved here that I could not take… and I surely would have taken more from the artists that I did had I all of the space I could desire to hang!

Enjoy! And, if you see anything you just love that was not in the curated show, let us know and we’ll connect you with the artist!
