Description
Fractal print on canvas, 26" x 26". This fractal image was generated by a computer algorithm I programmed from scratch. Billions of pixels in the image are sent through a mathematical equation that moves each pixel through its own chaotic path, filling in different colors as they move. It is printed on iridescent canvas providing a nice shimmer, and the equation is printed on the edge-wrap of the canvas. Named for Hippasus of Metapontum, ancient Greek mathematician credited with discovering irrational numbers, which is fitting as fractals often demonstrate illogical, chaotic, unexpected, and Superfunkadelic behavior.
