FIRST FRIDAY: LAURA WACHA
WHERE: Ghostwolf! 206-1/2 San Felipe ST NW STE 3 WHEN: November 5th, 2021 (5-8pm)
Show runs through November 29th
Ghostwolf Gallery brings you the wild and wonky surrealistic stylings of artist Laura Wacha! Laura is an award-winning artist and Local Treasure.
I create my strangely humorous images to make some sense of the schism of being a modern human here on earth: to have some control, to glean some amusement, or sometimes simply to help decide what I think about it all. If my flamboyantly colored images of outlandish and grotesque characters interacting in odd landscapes appear simultaneously familiar and fantastic, it is because they are ultimately about the mundanely surreal narratives of workaday life and global strife that are all around us.
A quick note regarding COVID-19 protocols…
As stated in our introductory statement this month, New Mexico currently has a mask mandate for indoor spaces. Kindly wear a mask in the gallery while visiting us. If you forget a mask and need one, never fear! Just ask one of our artists and we’ll provide one. Thank you!!
