CALL FOR ART! SUPER FUNKADELIC
What do you get when you mix Pride Month with an art exhibition? A visual dance party!
Ghostwolf invites local artists to submit their work for a juried exhibition celebrating diversity and inclusion. Artists may be members of the LGBTQIA community OR allies. (Yes, that means pretty much everyone is invited to submit!) We’re looking for both art that is topical to Pride month and that which is joyful, fun, upbeat, and generally Super Funkadelic! We think this show has a ton of potential and hope it will become an annual event. Coming this June!
Please note, the confirmation email you receive upon paying fees IS NOT a confirmation of receipt of work. You will receive a second confirmation upon submitting your artwork for consideration.
MORE ON OUR NEW DIGS: ONLINE VIRTUAL TOUR! 206-1/2 San Felipe ST NW STE 3 In Historic Old Town’s Patio Market
We’re all settled in and open for business our regular hours, and hope you will come by and see us! We’re still practicing COVID-safe practices (masks are required in our space) for your healthy and safety!
For those still a little wary about getting out, or not local to New Mexico and missing it, we’ve created a virtual tour so we can show you around!
Everything old is new again… Originally shot in 2011, this image has been through a lot of iterations. This sense that we did not “stick the landing” is not an uncommon one for artists. Sometimes we warm to things, and sometimes, even years later, we decide to revise them. This more stylized update to Amy’s “Posted” image adds a sense of motion to the vegetation, softens some clouds and makes them mistier in appearance, crisps up some edges on the buildings, deletes some elements that weren’t working for her, and adds some cheerful pink bindweed flowers to the signpost.Follow Amy’s Instagram Feedto see the older versions of “Posted” and for stories related to the backgrounds of her images!
