From Roe: Two years ago, author @erinmarsh2 (Erin Marsh) selected ππ§π§π¦π€π΅π΄ π°π§ ππ¦π―πͺπ’π as the cover for her book of poems titled, ππͺπ΄π’π£πͺππͺπ΅πΊ ππ΄π―’π΅ ππ¦πΉπΊ. Erin’s poetry, though unique to her experiences, carries within it a reflection of the fears of rejection and alienation we each face as humans. If you haven’t read this beautiful and succinct collection yet, you can find it on Amazon or through local publisher @julesnyquist.β£ β£ #artprocess #artiststudio #watercolorpainting #worksonpaper #figurativeart #figurepainting #surrealart #popsurrealism #poetryandar t#painters #collectart #youngartcollectors #julesnyquist #arttherapy #roelibretto #allegoricalart #ghostwolfgallery #erinmarsh2 #oldtownartscrawl
Via 516 Arts: βI want to reimagine the United States of America without white supremacy. As a place in which Indigenous peoplesβ land rights matter, and the promises made by our government to African and Native Americans are finally honored. I want to reimagine our values such that children learn that Harriet Tubman and Chief Joseph were founders of a better America. I want to reimagine this country as a place in which we are taught to treat the land, air, and water that comprise it with respect. A place where we confront our history in a meaningful way that provides for real truth and reconciliation. I want to reimagine this country as having dismantled both the Dakota Access Pipeline and the school-to-prison pipeline for good. I want to reimagine that, rather than Geronimoβs skull being stolen and kept as a trophy at Yale University, that we all keep his fighting spirit in our hearts. In this time of reevaluation and increasing awareness of the darker parts of our historyβlet us not forget to connect the movement for Black lives to the struggle for Indigenous peoplesβ land rights and sovereignty.β -Karsten Creightney, Albuquerque, NMβ β β β Hit the link in bio to check out more of Karsten’s work and the rest of Radical Reimaginings!β β β β #KarstenCreightney #collage #RadicalReimaginings
