Dear Friends & Supporters,
I’d like to begin this post with: “What interesting times we live in!”, but that would not only be an understatement, it would be diminishing the seriousness of the current situation world-wide. As hopefully all New Mexicans are aware, our governor issued an order to “Shelter-in-Place” and required all non-essential businesses to close their doors. While we would argue that art is an “essential”, we suspect that the authorities would beg to differ, and thus, Ghostwolf has closed its doors until at least April 10th, 2020.
During this time of uncertainty, we want to assure you all that we are still here to serve your needs, or just represent a little light during a time that seems so very dark. In the next couple of days, we will be posting a virtual walk-through of our gallery. In addition to the work of our regular artists, the “Women’s Work 2020” show is still in place! Should you be moved by a piece in our space, we can take orders by phone (please call 505-246-WOLF or email ghostwolfgallery@gmail.com) and will offer curbside pick-up by appointment for locals. Shipping can also be arranged, and we assure you that we will take the utmost care with your order to insure that it is in great condition and virus-free when it arrives at your door.
As a small business, this is indeed a perilous moment for both the gallery and our artists. In the best of times, it can be tough to make a living selling your artwork, and in the worst of times, we are often one of the types of businesses first forgotten. As such, every purchase right now, however small, helps tremendously. And, we ask you in all humility, to consider helping us out even if it’s just the purchase of a tee-shirt. In addition to wall art, many of our artists offer other products. From clothing to coffee mugs, you can send a bit of cheer to an isolated friend or loved one. We encourage you to consider shopping our online site, and on our artist’s personal sites. (See below for a full list of their various offerings.) And, if you’ve been considering a big purchase, please consider making it now. We’re spending more time at home after all. It’s a great time to work on making that space one we love to be in!
Remember, many of our artists take commissions, too. Put us to work!
And, just so you know, if it is at all up to us, we’re not going anywhere. We are named after a Keystone species (and, a transcendent one at that!), and we intend to be a part of the Albuquerque art ecosystem for years to come. Ghostwolf supporters are simply amazing and we have oft expressed our copious thanks and undying love for you all. In four short years, you have helped us earn numerous local accolades: A Reader’s Choice from the Albuquerque Journal, A Best of City from ABQ the Magazine, & two years in the top three of the Alibi’s Best of Burque.
Thanks, as always–but especially now, for your support. Sending you much love, and many warm, virtual puppy snuggles.
Be safe, live well,
