American Jewelry from New Mexico

Two Ghostwolf artists have pieces in the ongoing “American Jewelry from New Mexico”exhibit. The museum has acquired these pieces for its permanent collection.
Per the museum website: “Albuquerque Museum presents a major exhibition with accompanying book published by the Museum of New Mexico Press, surveying, through more than 300 spectacular objects, all aspects of jewelry adornment from prehistory to the present. Rather than focus on a single culture group, individual artist, time period, or medium as have most jewelry exhibitions and publications, American Jewelry from New Mexico tells the stories of diverse heritages simultaneously, as artists live, in concert, trade, and adaptation with their neighbors.

CALL FOR ART
Deadline: October 14th, 2018
“To make people free is the aim of art, therefore art for me is the science of freedom.” -Joseph Beuys
Ghostwolf Gallery invites local artists to submit artwork for an exhibition entitled REPRESENT! in celebration of the midterm elections.
The purpose of this exhibition is not to highlight any particular issue or perspective, but to be a means for our local artists to share what may be their less seen, or more controversial or challenging work. We seek to represent a full spectrum of ideas and encourage artists from all walks of life and political orientations to submit.
What are you passionate about? Are the hot-button issues in the spotlight what you’re really concerned about, or are there other issues you feel are often neglected or swept under the rug? Submitted work needn’t be immediately understood as political or it may be overtly so. If you are interested in the conservation of wildlife and public spaces, your landscapes are just as relevant as another artist’s statements on second amendment rights.
