May 2018

Happy May Day! It’s Mom’s month at Ghostwolf and we’ve got lots of good things going on, including discounts on gifts for mom and even a pop-up flower shoppe on the 12th! The second annual WILD! show also opens on the 19th. Read on!

First Friday ARTScrawl (May 4th; 5-8pm)
It’s a Spring Thing!
This first Friday, join our artists for an evening of music, wine, laughter, discounts, and door prizes for mom! If you haven’t visited us in a while, lots of beautiful new artwork by new artists adorns our walls and we have many fun new things we know mom will just love. Treat her to a night out on the town and we’ll pamper her with cookies and savory treats! Enter our drawing to win prints and maybe even a “Meanwhile, Back in Kansas” coffee mug or tee! See you there!

Pop-up Flower Shoppe, 12-4pm May 12th!
We are super excited to welcome Adrienne from the flowering shoppe to our gallery from 12-4pm the day prior to Mother’s Day! Come by the gallery and get all of your mom’s day shopping done in one shot– we’ll have both a great gift and the perfect flower arrangement available to boot!

Adrienne is a local florist who utilizes handpicked and homegrown local blooms to create gorgeous, contemporary arrangements and classic masterpieces. Her arrangements are a bounty of interesting shapes and unique textures shared in containers of vintage, up-cycled, and repurposed roots. It is Adrienne’s goal to produce artful arrangements utilizing more sustainable practices and the results are simply fantastic! Check out more of her beautiful designs on Instagram:

WILD! Celebrating Wildlife & Diversity Through Art

Ghostwolf is once again delighted to announce the opening of WILD! the day after endangered species day, on May 19th, 2018. WILD! is an eclectic collection that we hope expresses the reverence, wonder, and whimsy we feel for earth’s wild creatures, yet also takes a deeper look at our relationships with them and the threats that we may ourselves pose to their well-being.

Opening day festivities will include remarks by a representative of Defenders of Wildlife and poetry readings by winners of their Enchanted Youth Writing Contest. The winners are all local third graders and we can’t wait to hear what they came up with! We also hope to have representatives and educational animals onhand from local rescue organizations. We’ve only just begun jurying for this show and we can assure you that you will not want to miss it!

A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to Defenders of Wildlife to aid in their work to protect and restore imperiled wildlife across North America and around the world.
